Carmen Burtless

Assistant School Director, Pembroke Pines

I’ve been with Cambridge Schools for 29 years. I still remember walking into a Cambridge School for the first time and thinking, wow, I like this! I started with aftercare and then became a teacher’s assistant. Through the years I’ve worked with all age groups and fell in love with PreK. I’ve also served as the lifeguard, swim instructor, phonics teacher, and math teacher.

Before joining Cambridge Schools, my husband and I served in the Army and were stationed in Europe and the U.S. I have three boys who all went to Cambridge. My interests are traveling, gardening, and cooking. My hobbies are riding bikes, practicing yoga, painting and arts and crafts.

My favorite children’s book is “Busy Busy Town” by Richard Scary, and “Clifford the Big Red Dog” by Norman Bridwell.
